The Cottage at Bolobek was originally the ‘Station Hands’ house. It is located in the middle of the property right beside the historic garden. The Cottage has recently undergone a significant renovation.

Bolobek has opened its gates many times to garden visitors, concert goers and for fundraising activities. In future we hope to have many more events including wedding ceremonies.

History

Bolobek is an aboriginal word meaning undulating. The property was created when Oswald Syme, the youngest son of David Syme, purchased adjoining parcels of land between 1910 and 1914.

The Farm

Bolobek originally covered more than 900 hectares. Some 270 hectares abutting Hamilton Road was excised after the 1952 bush fires. A further 70 hectares was sub-divided in the late 1990’s.
